La Thuile is one of the best ski resorts in the Western Alps, a touristic center of the Piccolo San Bernardo valley, with a very large area thanks to the connection with Val d'Isère and the French resort of La Rosiere. Located at an altitude of 1450 meters in a wide green valley surrounded by forests, mountains and glaciers is also equipped for summer holidays. La Thuile has got more than 130 kilometers of ski lanes in the Espace San Bernardo that borders France connecting the resort with Val d'Isere, La Thuile is the best you can find for skiing in Valle d'Aosta. From beginners slopes to the more challenging tracks including black Maison Blanche and Berthod, already the scene of the downhill races of the World Cup, La Thuile meets every need, level and type of skier. All this in a very beautiful scenery that is typical of the Valle d'Aosta with the imposing Mont Blanc in the background. Beautiful and spectacular also tracks for cross-country skiing, in Petosan basin. The nearest airports to reach La Thuile are Bergamo Orio Al Serio, Milan Linate, Milan Malpensa and Turin airports in Italy and Geneva airport in France.
La Thuile has got exceptional ski lanes for beginners and advanced ski lovers
"Only been skiing for 3 years but already been here 7 times with my family ( Wife and 2 daughters 9 & 14 ) Always spend Christmas here and have got very friendly with the locals which adds to the experience . This year we saw 7 families that had come back again for fun and it seemed around every corner or piste i was greeting someone . Now the skiing lots of good terrain on and off piste and the option to ski to La Rosiere which is very good but busier than La Thuile the only down side 2 long drag lifts back but you can skip 1 of these if you want . I can honestly say i have never queued for more than a minute for a lift and they are mostly modern and fast , your lift pass lets you ski 2 days else where in the Aosta valley ( 6 day pass ) which lets us usually go to Pila on a organised bus and Courmeyer on a free ski bus , well worth it . If your looking for banging night life then it's limited try some where else but for a family or you non ravers it's great , lots of good resturants and plenty on the mountain too La Foyer being my favourite check out the Welsh flag of mine fixed on the roof inside! Other things are a good snow record and a chance to try one of Italy's steepest blacks 37 and the famous Franco Berthod Black 3 run , we stay at the Planibell apts which are cheep and serve a purpose but if you want al la carte then try Mirramonte hotel awesome! Overall a great resort with friendly people i will be back....."
