"We visited Courmayeur today (we are based in Cervinia for two weeks and have an Aosta Valley ski pass) in anticipation of crowd free slopes and great food as suggested from the reviews we had read. The slopes were great fun and steep which we and the 3 kids loved but we were massively disappointed by the crowds on the slopes. I was buzzed repeatedly by fast skiers and snowboarders as was my 6 year old. I wasn't impressed with their lack of forethought. We were also looking forward to the food in the slope side restaurants. Again we were disappointed. The portions were served in plastic dishes with plastic cutlery which broke while I was eating. My mushrooms and tagliatelle was horribly slimy and overly salty. I felt like I was eating rubber strands with slimy slugs thrown in...so much for the great food. Luckily my 6 year old and I decided to finish off our day with a hot chocolate from the Christiania restaurant and it was delicious...a real hot chocolate that you can stand your spoon up in! Thank goodness for the steep slopes and the real hot chocolate to brighten up our day!"
"We thought the resort was quite hard for beginners but intermediates and advanced skiing is excellent. We loved the Crystal repa and the nightlife and everyone was so friendly. We will be going back for sure"
"I was staying in Chamonix last year (dec/jan) after disappointing snow conditions we decided to ski in Courmayeur for the last 7 days of our holiday, it was the best decision we ever made.... unlike France this resort actually make's an effort Lifts - Staff are always friendly, efficient and helpful - if possible buy you lift pass the day before you plan to ski or even better buy online as the queues can get very busy in the morning Runs - all routes are well organized with clear directions dotted everywhere so you will always be on the right run for your ability, the terrain varies from long big open runs to trails through the trees, beginners, intermediate & advanced skiers/borders will not disappointed with this resort Ski School - again eager to please and match you up with the right guide/ski instructor, again unlike France they are much friendlier and patient Restaurants - I have to say the small little restaurants dotted all over this resort have never failed to impress me, all are family run and again efficient and friendly even better the food is restaurant standard and about half the price you pay in France ;) did I mention the delicious hot chocolate ? certainly sets you up for the day (my family refused to ski without this pit stop in the morning ;)"
