"Looking back, I'm incredibly glad that we booked our return flight from Malpensa instead of Fiumicino. Flying out of Malpensa internationally was seamless, without short lines, and stacked with great places to buy your duty free goods and eat while waiting on your 8+ hour flight back home. And seriously, there are two different rounds of duty free stores to choose from. One before you go through customs, and then one after customs. The one before customs (not to be confused with the first level of security you go through,) is by far the best, so if you're gonna get a couple gallons of Grappa to torture your friends and family with during Christmas, this is the place to get it. The wifi and lounge area at this terminal is pretty great. Don't worry if you have a couple hours to kill. A charged iphone and a couple of apps can leave you distracted and entertained for hours. And when you get hungry, just get a couple slices of pizza. The food at Italian airports kick the shit out of American airports. But yeah, anyways, Malpensa is where it's at. The only downside here is that it's way out in bumfuck nowhere. It's a 13 euro train ticket or a 100 euro taxi ride out here form the center of Milan. So, like all things travel, please plan ahead."
